Papaya Planting
July 24, 2016Recently the Siddhidata Kulam planted 62 papaya trees on land that was recently dug up by machines and made smoother for ease of mowing. Thankfully they snapped some photos along the way.

The hole is dug and amendments are added to the mixture of soil. This ground is rich and loose from previous papaya use.

A young papaya plant is about to be freed into the unlimited Earth. Each tree is planted ten feet apart.

Our vibrant taskforcer and church member Kodiswara helps the team. He is helping put chicken manure, green sand and cotton seed meal inside the soil before adding the trees. Each amendment adds one of the magic 3 ingredients to our Hawaiian soil: Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium.

Nirvani Adinatha finishes by smoothing over the hole and stamping some pressure for safety. These little trees have been in our nursery for four months.

Ah Ha! Another addition to the team. Chidambaram Sendan and Dean Drulius give a few chakas to the camera.

Natyam Dayanatha off in the distance. Chances are he is operating one of the machines to dig the holes.

And that machine is none other then our very own Rajendra Backhoe. Thanks to a donor with a big heart, the monks are able to swiftly move through our field work with power and efficiency.

This is what the trees will look like in several months. A healthy papaya tree on our property can provide several giant fruits a week.
