Meditation Hut Installed
August 22, 2016Nirvani Adinatha has just completed a major side-project that he worked on here and there on his days off from normal duties. Nirvani is an excellent carpenter and can methodically build structures from scratch with relative ease. Let's walk through the installation of our new redwood meditation hut.

Nirvani worked for many months on this and deserves our praises and our final push to help. The monks gather around 10am to hoist this hut in the air and place it in a serene spot.

The crew numbers around 11 with one dedicated photographer, thanks Kodiswara! Here we see our first lift in the air and we begin to march like ants carrying a morsel of bread.

Here we go! You may be wondering about the manual work when the monastery is heavily fortified with large equipment capable of lifting a house. Well, it rains a lot here and we have a lot of grass and mud. Enough said.

The mighty band of monastics are lead by Yoginathaswami. Ten minds can and do work together well, but one mind watching them all simultaneously is quite powerful and effective.

And it wouldn\
t be a complete event without more rain! We are almost at our destination when a small shower of blessings fall upon us. On a sidenote, I\'m always amazed at how humble Paramacharya Sadasivanathaswami is. He doesn\'t have to lift a finger, let alone a 500lb wooden structure, yet he answers the call each and every time a hand is needed. '

The end is in sight. We stop to take a short break to discuss landing options.

Ok, let\
s begin the descent into the atmosphere. For those who can\'t really tell where this local is, let me explain:'

When you go \
round the Path of Saiva Satgurus, you end up visiting each and every known successor-from Nandinatha to Bodhinatha-and end up where you started. This meditation hut is right after Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami. '

As you keep walking, follow the stream to the right and voila, you end up with the opportunity to sit in a silent, secluded, serene and sightly spot...see what I did there?

The group has found the huts home and landing commences

In all its glory. The hut sits alone, you sit with the hut and the two become one. Over the side peering out is a small pond full of plants and even the sound of the falls from one pond to another. Looks like you have yet another reason to visit. See you soon.
