September 18th Homa

Enjoy these belated photos from our recent homa. The monks perform a homa on the first day of each of their lunar weeks. This week is only a four day week for them and includes Ashram Sadhana Day. On the following two day retreat we observe Iraivan Day, when we prepare the monthly Newsletter and news video, as well as our monthly Ardra Abhishekam to Lord Nataraja in Kadavul Temple. The event begins with a small puja to Lord Ganesha

Then a short puja to Lord Hanuman

followed by worship of Lord Varuna

And finally Lord Siva. The Arati for this puja is what is used to light the homa

Devotees brought many beautiful flowers to be offered

Following the chanting of Sri Rudram, the group invokes Siva\

s grace with 108 repetitions of \"Aum Ham Haum Sivaya Svaha\" '
