His Holiness Sri Sri Jayendra Puri Mahaswamiji Arrives

His Holiness Sri Sri Jayendra Puri Mahaswamiji, successor of Sri Sivaratna Puri Swami known as "Trichyswami," visited the monastery this past week for 3 days. Mahaswamiji was last here in 2011 and previously in 2008. You can see his last visit from 2011 HERE and the previous visit in 2008 HERE.

Today's taka focuses on Mahaswamiji's homa in Kadavul temple which he does during each visit to the aadheenam. This is Swami's 3rd visit to the monastery and hopes to make Kauai Aadheenam the first stop on all of his world tours.

Mahaswamiji is the head of Kailas Ashrama, one of South India's renowned religious institutions. They follow the Sri Vidya tradition and the Ishtadevata of their temple is Goddess Rajarajeswari.

Kadavul is blessed once again to have Mahaswamiji and his entourage sit and perform a homa. The theme of each homa remains the same: to wish us success in our major projects started in the past and the future one\

s to come. '

The monks and local devotees slowly gather to enjoy the darshan invoked by the priest. Satguru and Mahaswamiji took a seat farther away as the homa was partly in their honor and they did not have to participate as much as usual.

Mahaswamiji is a Sanskrit scholar and makes sure all the chants are performed correctly. Swamiji takes no chances and will start chanting along with the priest to help guide them along in certain parts.

Mahaswamiji and Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami come from gurus that shared a close relationship. Mahaswamiji visits regularly to fan that flame and keep the two lineages close to this day.

This year Swamiji presents a rudraksha mala, grown from his Aadheenam, and a golden Lingam\/Nandi murti

All the monks come up and are bestowed the mala from Mahaswamiji himself

Satguru Bodhinatha takes this opportunity to also present gifts and shawls to the group. Our newest publication, Path to Siva, was handed to Mahaswamiji.
