December 30 Homa

This morning we begin another six-day phase at the monastery. We started the phase with our usual homa, burning written prayers and aligning our energies and efforts with the devas and mahadevas. Saravananathaswami was today's pujari, performing pujas to Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, Lord Varuna and Lord Siva before lighting the sacred flame. Other monks chanted Sri Rudram, and Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami presided over the homa and burned the written prayers. Satguru then gave an upadesha, discussing another chapter from Path To Siva. This morning's discussion was on the importance of Monistic Theism in our tradition. Aum Namah Sivaya.
