The Wonderful World of Whole Wheat
January 31, 2017As the holidays simmer down and monastery guests reduce the monks return to their crafts as carpenters, astrologers, morphological plant-lovers, zymologists, inter-web-code transformationers, fruit pickers and pressers, fromageres, dorodangerists and bakers. We small band of brothers take care of this and that seeing that we shape the outer along with the inner.
Today we take quick look at a few creations from our bakers and enjoy the final product of wheat mixed with water mixed with yeast and thrown around the kitchen.

But what of this baking? Is there a mystical side to it?

We would say what in life has no mystical aspect to it? There is a great deal of work that goes into our life as we transform from scattered experiences life-to-life into our maturing we go and ready ourselves back to divinity.

We reincarnate as many times as there are grains sprouting in a field

Time and time again we go through experiences and learn new lessons enough to where the learning begins to stick with us, adding wisdom as we pass to and fro Siva\
s worlds. Sort of like water is added to that wheat and becomes a shape. '

The dough can now be molded into a creation in which it won\
t revert back for it is strong enough to hold shape under pressure.'

We need the pressure to mold us. Often times we might look for the easy way out forgetting that we learn the most from difficult times. We know the sages look for the bad astrology and increase their sadhana.

From scatteredness pours experience that rises wisdom for our path and heated to perfection we go

A slice of experience here a slash of karma there and the soul is brought deeper and deeper into knowing what lies deep down inside that hard outer crust

Enough times we go through it and then the guru comes to put it all in perspective. He helps add the right amount of water and salt and knows exactly what temperature to cook you.

Progress not perfection, not yet. We still have the body and its emotions. We still have the ramified intellect, oh how deep that web goes. We still have life-beautiful and all its glory to behold.

Eventually we have a clearness that goes through us. The inside reflects the outside and the outside reflects the inside. Getting close...

Open us up and you see that there is nothing to hide. Life can be well lived this way

Some may be criss-crossed and tied up in confusion. Reach out and give them a hand since you were there in one of those lifetimes.

The guru finds them and turns them around as well

Watch and see as they unfold as you did

In Siva\
s hand they are held once again whole and complete'
