Noni Building and Gym Concrete Floor

Our Noni production building is moving right along as the weather here on kauai is sunny and warm.

Our land mover Dennis Wong gets ready to clear the grass and dig a hole for the foundation

The man for the job, Jim Fain, is a highly experienced contractor who specializes in the details. He is in the black shirt.

The perimeter of the building is trenched

Jim has two workers that have worked with him for about five years

The trench has been thumped and compacted with a strong material

The day of the first cement pour. Two local Hawaiian companys are hired for the cement and the pump.

Image

The cement truck operator has been pouring cement at the monastery for decades. He drops the cement into the pump hopper and away it goes to the hose operator.

The pump guys, father and son, have also been pouring cement at the monastery for decades and have fun stories to tell in between trucks.

Image

Jim and his crew work hard in a little bit of rain to level out the footing for the building

Image

Cement block shows up a few days later

Image

Jim and crew can lay hundreds of blocks in a day

Image

Image

The ground-level of block is complete. Because of the ground\

s slope, the building has to be raised a bit. '

On the same day of the cement pour, Satguru allowed us to also pour the floor to our new monastic gym. The monks are requered to exercise for 30 minutes daily and this new gym should be very popular.

Jim pulls out the \"whirly bird\" and finishes the floor to make it ultra smooth, no broom finish

The floor is finished and in a few days equipment can be moved on. A rubber gym flooring will be put down to save the concrete from chips and cracks if and when heavy weights fall. Thank you Satguru!
