Kodi Maram Unwrapped
March 17, 2019Today the Kodi Maram was removed completely from its crate and prepared for Larry Conklin, our crane operator, to place it in the Nandi Mandapam. The bottom of the Kodi Maram is wrapped with lead sheets to preserve the wood. Brass screws are used to secure to lead sheets to the Kodi Maram.

5 feet or so of the pole is below the floor level, the next section is surrounded by stone, from then on up it is covered with copper.
The silpis work on the top piece of stone.
The stone has been waiting for a long time...
Careful measurements are taken for the lead cladding that wraps the pole beneath the stone and floor.
