2017 Mahasamadhi Celebrations Begin

Aum Namah Sivaya

Jai Gurudeva!

Yesterday we observed the beginning of our 2017 celebrations for Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami's mahasamadhi. Pilgrims from around the world flew in to participate in worship and to have classes with the swamis. Day One began with a homa in Kadavul Temple, performed by Natyam Dayanatha and presided over by Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami. The home was also a nice opportunity for a namakarana and vow taking. Following the homa, pilgrims had breakfast and attended the 9am Siva puja. They then joined a class with Arumuganathaswami until lunch. Lunch was a special event for Satguru's Jayanti, which happened to be the same day. We'll cover that in another post. Today, events began with a puja to Gurudeva's shrine in Kadavul, followed by a silent Meditation. Aum.

"We have one duty to perform, which is to pass our religion on to the next generation, the next and the next." - Gurudeva
