Sacred Bath at Keerimalai and Yogaswami's Murthi shrine at Sivapoomi Madham

On March 21st, the eighth day of the innersearch, pilgrims were brought to Keerimalai located at the northern tip of the Jaffna Peninsula. Spring water from the Keerimalai pools are renowned mineral water that is believed to have healing properties. There are separate swimming areas for women and men. Later in the day pilgrims were blessed to visit the Naguleswaram temple.

Keerimalai is 50 feet above sea level. Hindus flock in large numbers on Aadi Amaavaasai day which falls during the Tamil month of Aadi (Mid July to mid August), to carry out rituals for their forefathers and bathe in the natural springs.

In 1997 Gurudeva had two statues of Yogaswami made. One these was destined to go on a world pilgrimage and finally go home to Sri Lanka. After the tour from Kauai, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton, Los Angeles, New York and Germany, Yogaswamy\

s Murthi made its final rest place here in Keerimalai Madham'
