Fitting the Kodimaram Kavacham
July 4, 2019Today the silpis and the monks of the Siddhidatta kulam placed the Kavacham pieces over the kodimaram, the temple flagpole. This is a test fitting, which will finalize the height at which stones around the base of the kodimaram must be carved too. After this the pieces will be taken off and the final steps towards completing the kodimaram will commence before they are placed a final time.

At Iraivan Temple the kavacham pieces are fit onto the kodimaram

It begins piece by piece.

Yogi Dayanatha and Nirvani Tejadevanatha man the Genie Boom lift

Each piece is taken to the top of the kodimaram

Then slowly lowered down over it

Yogi maintains careful control of the lift

The trusty Genie boom

The pieces are carefully numbered, as they are all different sizes

Towards the top some more decorative pieces go on

And then one heavy piece which will sit below the \"flag\"

These are the flag pieces which go near the top

A challenging piece to add. Jai Ganesha!

On it goes

At this point we can get a good idea of the remaining height

Yoginathaswami takes a look. Nice to see a preview of things to come! Aum Namah Sivaya.
