Sri Lanka Innersearch Days 1, 2 and 3!
February 21, 2018The Innersearch is moving along and we are receiving images and stories by the day. Here is a small portion of the beginning days.
Satguru writes in, "Morning excursion to nearby Sigiriya. It is a giant rock that use to be a king's palace and also a Buddhist monastery. It is famous for its fresco paintings. We walked through the grounds and saw the ancient water gardens. Then we stopped in a shady place for my morning class. Next, more than half the group climbed to the top of it which was the equivalent of 42 stories of stairs!Quiet a view of the country side from there.
Afternoon at hotel; another class by me and then one by Sadasivanathaswami.

The group arrives and starts to enjoy the beach!

\"The atmosphere of Sri Lanka is divine.\"

Bodhintha continues his strict daily exercise regime of walking many miles even though he is on the other side of the world and teaching everyday. In tow is his guard that keeps the monkeys away. Exercise truly gives us the power to out-perform the competition: our past self.

One of the first outings was to the Sigiriya, an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres (660ft) high

According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle the Culavamsa, this site was selected by King Kasyapa (477 495 CE) for his new capital. He built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes.

\"There were monkeys everywhere. With cookie in hand they all of a sudden became very interested in my friendship.\"

\"Part way up we saw ancient paintings and what is called the mirror wall, the light colored wall in the picture above. It was highly polished to the point where you could see your reflection. Even to this day you can see your reflection.\"

\"Right before the last climb to the top are the Lions paws.\"

\"We finally made it to the top! The beauty of Sri Lanka is breathtaking.\"

\"The white stones on the ground is the actual summit, climb those and you\
ve reached the top!\"'

A common theme during Innersearches are the spontaneous surprises. Giradevi Canagasaby, daughter of Paramaseevan and Magadevi (in photo) informed the staff that today was her parents 30th anniversary! So the crew planned for a surprise cake, showed a memory compilation video from the couple\
s daughter and honored them with a shawl. '

One of the couples dreams was to spend their anniversary with their Satguru. Check that one off the list.
