Golden Gurudeva - Part II

It has been raining every day for weeks. This poses a challenge for the Deva and Tandu because the sizing/varnish on Gurudeva takes forever to dry. After two weeks they are back on the job.

ve had plenty of water. Here is the Wailua River in high spate one day last week. Humidity - 100%'

The team had to wait for a week, to let the first coat of sizing dry before they could back to touch up those areas that needed more gold

The final touch up is finished. They had to wait another week.

Yay, Gurudeva is dry! Now it is a time for a clear coating.

Deva puts on one light coat after another.

Tandu using a hair drier. They were told this was not needed but the humidity is over the top. The drier helps a lot.

And yet another dryer!

Voila! Golden Gurudeva! We decide to put him back in his protective screen box to let the clear coating dry. There is still a chance that dust and bugs could land on him while he is still wet.
