Travels in Canada
October 17, 2019At the end of September, Paramacharya Sadasivanathswami and Yogi Jayanatha traveled up from Tucson to Canada. While there their primary hosts were the Pillay family, who first took them for a quick visit to one of Canada's most beautiful national parks, Banff in Alberta. Following their exploration of Canada's natural beauty, they then traveled to the city of Victoria, British Columbia. While there, they visited the Pillay's home and and event was held for Paramacharya to give a public talk to more than 100 seekers and devotees. Paramacharya's talk was focused on the intricacies of meditation and on the complexities of karma. The talk was deeply appreciated by those who attended.

The monks fly over the Canadian Rockies
They reach Calgary and can see all the yellowing maple trees from the plane
Looks like Canada
Our team reaches Lake Louise in Banff
This pristine glacial lake is highly protected and is a wonder to behold
Picture perfect Lake Louise
There is a trail which takes you around the right side of the lake to the other end. It goes along the water and gives you a good two hour walk
Though it could probably be faster if you weren\
t continuously stopped in your tracks by the shear beauty of the place.'

Snow! A rare sight for our monks.
It happened to be the first day of snow for the year. Quite auspicious.
Wow.
We trek up into the hillside pines
The snowfall begins to roll in
Silent and beautiful
Next, off to Victoria. The Pillays welcome our monks to their home.
A traditional welcome and feet washing.
The Pillays have turned their living room into their shrine room
A short puja
