Carving the Pothigai for Iraivan's Nandi Mandapam

Note the beginning of two flowers at the top of this pothigai stone. The main relief is all we see.

Shows the flower design has been drawn by red oxide,ready to be carved.

Both the flowers have been carved.

Shows the opposite side of the pothigai where right side is the intricate carvings and to the left is the pathmam which goes around the stone. There are 12 pothigais which sits on top of each pillar. All the basic carvings are over of the 12 pothigais are completed ,now ornamental carvings is in progress.
