A Walk Around the Aadheenam
March 20, 2020With the recent rains subsiding, it's a great time to get out and enjoy the lush natural beauty of Kauai Aadheenam. Let's see who we come across along the way.
"Just go about and do your work. Enjoy the beauty of the world! See yourself everywhere. That is the greatest secret!" Yogaswami

We come across Satguru taking an afternoon walk

Our mountain is bright and clear today

Kauai Aadheenam is something of an unintentional sanctuary for birds, fish and countless other critters

And the flowers grow in abundance

In this flower we find a lizard resting. Imagine what it would be like to be able to sleep in a flower.

In the Siddhidatta Kulam\
s office we find their fish tank is being worked on'

This large tank is being improved

All the fishies wait in a smaller tank nearby

\"I am not a master. I am only my own master.\" Yogaswami

We say hello to our birds

They\
re happy to have the dry weather back too '

A bright banana flower

We catch Yogi Haranandinatha on the way to his desk

Nirvani Tejadevanatha and Vishvanathaswami stop by the shop to get tools for a project out by the garden

In the shop Dayanatha is repairing one of our electric vehicles

We head out to the greenhouse to see what\
s happening there'

and find Yajatadeva hard at work planting trees

He\
s planting spinach trees along the fence line'

These look like a maple, but the leaves can be eaten like spinach

This is a full grown one that is nearby

Inside the older greenhouse we see many wonderful things growing, including a few marigolds

An army of royal palms stands at the ready across the lawn

In our vegetable garden there are many abundant beds of plants

They\
ve been enjoying the extra water'

Snails are quite active here, and when found, are relocated to another part of the property. We figure it will take them a long time to find their way back.

Some bright and spicy Thai chilis

And a happy eggplant bush

Our Papaya\
s grow really well here'

Tejadevanatha shows us the cow manure \"tea\" they create to fertilize the plants

Way better than miracle grow!

A bunch of small avocado trees, soon to be planted

And here we have some growing durian trees

\"I am with you always. You are God. God is with you.\" Yogaswami

Mulch piles make the world go \
round'

Inside the kitchen we come across our greenhouse lettuce. \"Farm to table\" at its best

Ganesha watches over the kitchen

Tiruvalluvar and Tirumular sit beside the courtyard, watching the sun make its way through the sky

\"You cannot improve others or the world. Improve yourself.\" Yogaswami
