Tropical Showers to End the Phase
February 17, 2021Aum Namah Sivaya
Beginning yesterday evening, Kauai received heavy cloud cover. This released countless gallons of rainwater along with booming thunder throughout the night. This morning our plants are very happy and our monks are very much carrying umbrellas. Today marks the end of our phase. Our monks are finishing up their work for the week before they head into three days of retreat. Aum.
"Nothing is lost, nothing is gained. How can we talk of gain or loss? The atma is one-it is all and everywhere. So how can there be loss and gain, coming and going, past and future?" Yogaswami

We find Kaivalyanathaswami on his way down to his office, umbrella in hand.

Having finished the advertiser pages for the recent issue of Hinduism Today magazine, Swami now has some time to work his many other small projects.

Today the river is steadily rising as the raining waters reach the mountain

A bromeliad enjoys the showers

We make our way down to the Pillaiyar Kulam office to see how their renovation is progressing

The most direct path to their office is through a tunnel of flowering Starburst trees

With the center office and front office renovations complete, work is now being done on the back office where Kaivalyanathaswami and Muruganathaswami usually work

The space is being recreated with new walls and ceiling and more light and airflow

We head around to the new main entrance

Ganesha greets you as you enter

And once you\
re inside as well'

Nataraja stands at the center of the office, blessing its occupants

Siddhanathaswami has been giving some extra care to our cows this week while also working on accounting

Shanmuganathaswami has been working on taxes and many other small projects

Swami shows us the new HAP room. That stands for \"Himalayan Academy Publications.\"

It is currently the temporary office for the two Swamis who\
s usual space is under renovation'

It will be for storing the many supplies used for our publications and distributions. Also it will house items for the Mini Mela.

Swami explains that these current shelves with eventually go on the other side of the room

And that taller shelves will sit in between the windows

There\
s a small electrical room on the other side with even more storage space'

Outside the Pillaiyar Kulam office just happens to be a natural wonderland.

The rain water adds to the beauty of each plant

More updates to come after the three-day retreat. Aum.
