Polishing Sipli Bronzes

Aum Namah Sivaya

A few days ago Rajkumar Manickam arrived on Kauai. He's here with his annual goal of cleaning and polishing the bronze statues at the Sipli Pavilion. Yesterday he dove right in and has already finished several statues. First the statues get a rinse, then an ivory soap treatment and brushing. Next they're dried with a microfiber towel. The final step involves being heated with a torch and waxed, followed by cooling and then buffing. Rajkumar was taught by our professional bronze workers in Colorado so that he could perform this upkeep each year. Aum.
