It all starts with this little, flower-loving creature...

As one walks along the path towards Satguru\

s office, you\'ll come across a small bushel of flowers along the stream\'s edge'

Image

It\

s on these tiny pink flowers that our protagonist lives, enjoying the first weeks of life'

Image

Here he his, basking in his heavenly little microcosm.

Image

He lives and grows among the flower petals, knowing nothing else but the flower and its stalk

Image

Here he is several weeks later. He\

s almost twice as big, but now his flower is beginning to wilt. '

Image

No problem. Another few weeks later we find he\

s moved to the next flower over. This will make a wonderful home for the next few weeks. Or will it?'

Image

After this point, our monks couldn\

t find him. Sometime in the darkened early morning hours, someone had been picking flowers for Lord Nataraja. We can only assume he went into a flower bag along with his home!'

Image

Thankfully, later that day Sivanathaswami found him. He was on Lord Nataraja, sitting on a white flower above Siva\

s right hand and drum. Our little friend was safe and sound, praying in the direction of Siva\'s smiling face.'

Image

Swami found his original flower and the mantis hopped right on. He was happy to have his home again, but still a little confused.

Image

We brought him back out to a safer flower clump that is rarely picked from

Image

He quickly clamored up onto his new home

With his unexpected pilgrimage to Siva\

s feet complete, this praying mantis can now enjoy the comfort of his new flower. Aum Namah Sivaya. '
