Love is the Sum of the Law – Part 2

Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami gives his weekly upadesha in Kadavul Temple at Kauai’s Hindu Monastery in Hawaii. It is part of a series of talks elaborating on the inspired teachings of Sivaya Subramuniyaswami as found in his book Merging With Siva. Here, Satguru discusses “Love is the Sum of the Law,” a talk given in 1960

How fortunate we are to set the course of our meditations here . . . and in the joyous tones of Bodhinatha’s presentations. So many insights to help us negotiate the quagmire of the conscious mind and the awareness of how powerful the obscuring forces are and to be respectful of timing – both within ourselves and when you are tempted to ‘help’ someone. The monistic bhakti path is so intimate, and beautiful – a dimension we seldom talk about openly. Many meditations and affirmations here! The ‘accumulate enough wealth so we won’t have to worry’ was priceless and the humor attached to it gives both understanding and compassion for all of us ‘marooned on earth’. That there is a dimension within us that is completely secure, absolutely fearless is a reminder we can’t get enough of and we so appreciate it. Prostrations to Bodhinatha!
