Here are more photos from our monks' journey. Sadasivanathaswami and Tillainathaswami are currently traveling, visiting Singapore, Malaysia and Mauritius. After a day of travel they arrived in Singapore where they were able to spend time with members, have Satsang, visit the Sri Sivan Temple, and enjoy some informal time at Singapore's largest bird sanctuary. Tomorrow they fly to Malaysia. More to come!
Our travelers arrive at the Sri Sivan Temple
To make their way eastward, they took a short flight to Honolulu and then a longer flight to Japan.
Here is there A380 (painted like a sea turtle) headed to Japan.
Landing in Japan after many hours of hurricane-related turbulence from a storm elsewhere in the Pacific
Another 7-8 hour flight and they arrive in Singapore at 1:00am to be greeted by everyone
The next day they journey to the Sri Sivan Temple for a Satsang with members as a short puja in the temple hall
Both of our Swami\
s give short talks '
To begin, bhajana and natchintanai are sung
Paramacharya gives an inspiring upadesha and includes updates from the Aadheenam
Upstairs in the temple hall, the priests perform a short puja to the Sivalinga
Our swamis then wait near the Nataraja shrine for a short puja that takes place there
The head priest (left-center) was trained under Pitchai Gurukkal
The next day we enjoy a trip to Singapore\
s Bird Paradise '
Its giant aviaries are divided by region and\/or continent. This bright blue bird was in the Africa section
As were these African Greys, of course. Distant cousins of Nimu?
Some of the birds were unexpectedly large. Compare this one to his caretaker in the next slide.
Up in one tree, we see some Great Hornbills
Another towering creature down below
This \"Saddlebill\" was about 3.5 feet tall
The world\
s nicest-looking Pigeon'
Emus! Must be in the Australia section.
A well-hidden owl.
This Black Cockatoo says hello to Dohadeva
Birds everywhere you look
Many happy flamingos
And a happy group of Bird Paradise Guests
