Innersearch Kauai 2010 Diary – Day Three

Our Innersearch journalists give us a short report on the day June 14, 2010:
We began our day with a revitalizing sunrise meditation on the beach, followed by breakfast in the hotel. The three-hour bus ride to Koke’e State Park through the towns of Kalaheo, Hanapepe and Waimea was filled with beautiful views. After arriving at our rustic mountain camp, we were greeted with a delicious lunch catered by Gaylord’s, who prepared all of our meals during the two-day stay. Later, we had a couple hours of free time during which we settled into Camp Sloggett, a lodge accomodation with two large rooms, ladies in one, men in another. Next, we had an amazing class with Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami where we discussed Vedanta and Siddhanta. Our schedule included a walking meditation, but due to rainy conditions, we substituted with a wonderful session which alternated between discussions with Paramacharya Palaniswami and bhajans led by Selvon Mardemootoo, in a format of katha. Thanks to Carole Kahn, we enjoyed an astounding traditional hula kahiko performance in the evening by Kaua’i’s only all-male hula group, led by Kumu Hula Doric Yaris.
Note from the staff: P.S. We have plenty of great photos, and we will be catching up with our traditional photo-and-caption stories here on TAKA in the coming days.
