Recently, the monks have been making some nice breads on retreat days. One monk in particular has been focusing on making sourdough. Here are his most recent masterpieces!

   Have you heard about Herman-the German, friendship cake?
   A parent in my school passed me some sourdough starter- Herman.
   My class children took care of Herman and on the 9th day part the portions into four; gave away 3 portions with instructions and used one portion to make the friendship cake. It was yummy! 🙂
