September 2020 update — Kauai’s Hindu Monastery is required to follow COVID-19 related restrictions issued by the State of Hawaii and the County of Kauai that apply to all places of worship. These restrictions are independent of the restrictions on travel to Hawaii. The addition of a COVID-19 test within 72 hours option for travelers will not impact the restrictions on places of worship. These restrictions on places of worship require those inside a place of worship to wear a mask, maintain social distancing of six feet of physical separation and not touch any objects others have touched such as a container of holy ash. Observing these restrictions plus some peoples’ concern of not becoming infected by other worshipers in our opinion seriously lessens the potentially uplifting nature of attending a puja, meeting with Satguru and touring the grounds. With this in mind, we are planning to keep Kauai’s Hindu Monastery closed until these restrictions are ended
