March 2021 Update – Kadavul Temple Open by Reservation

March 2021 Update — Kauai’s Hindu Monastery is required to follow COVID-19 related restrictions issued by the State of Hawaii and the County of Kauai that apply to all places of worship. These restrictions are independent of travel policies for Hawaii. These restrictions on places of worship require those inside a place of worship to wear a mask when within six feet of those of another household and in general maintain social distancing of six feet of physical separation.

Kadavul Temple’s 9 AM Siva puja has been open to SSC members and active HA students living on the island for some time. Two more categories of those that can attend have now been added. The first is island residents who are not SSC members or active HA students. They are allowed to attend a maximum of once every two weeks. The second category is visitors from off island following an approval process. Observing these restriction, Kadavul temple is open, but with limited capacity (of 14 persons) and a reservation is required. Email: puja@hindu.org to make your reservation. Note that the monastery grounds are still closed although guest may explore the area from the entrance up to the gate by the banyan mandapam during visiting hours.

We are thankful for this news! This demonstrates the importance of the issue to our community of Siva devotees and that everyone must do their part to halt the progression of this virus. Our collective health will deliver our individual health.

Love and blessings : ) Your actions, calm my mind.

  4. SATKUNENDRAN says:

With prayers for quick recovery from the unknown epidemic that is affecting living beings all and sundry.
Wise and prudent decision by Satguru is welcome.

  5. Jai Sivakumara says:

Aum. Lord Siva protect from Covid-19 all Monks at Kauai’s Hindu Monastery. Lord Siva, and by your immense grace, wherever possible, mitigate the suffering from sickness of any and all persons around the world who may be affected by this new virus. After, this event, may recovery be complete and life return to normal for all. May health return to the sick and economic well being to those who may suffer loss. Let us pray . Aum

  6. Ed Hawk says:

Glad to hear of your decision to close the monastery to the public. It will take time to overcome this pandemic. Your digital presence and your openness to your church members is more than anyone could ask for. We all pray for a quick return to a healthier world.

  7. PETHURAJA N. A says:

    “AUM”!.

  8. Sankuthi says:

    Jai Jai Shree Maha Ganesh!

Thank you Satguru for closing the Monastery for the safety of our beloved Swamis and Monks! This is a wake up call for us all to learn to protect one another and rise up to the challenge! A challenge for the Scientists/Doctors and a stronger message to all the spiritual leaders of the world! For the odd one who may have known of this challenge, it is his/her utmost duty to pray even harder, perhaps even turning a new leaf in that individual’s spiritual path! May the spread of the virus diminish and we all recover from this deadly virus and recover economically, financially, emotionally and physically. With such a spread of this deadly virus, it is also the duty of the world leaders to continuously educate their people honestly and sincerely about diet, good hygiene, proper nutrition and above all caring for one another!

A Hindu takes the long view of knowing that reincarnation will give the chance to complete the unfinished work that needs to be done!

AUM NAMA SIVAYA! SIVAYA NAMA AUM!

  9. Peetamba Trishula says:

I’m in the UK…………I’ve got it. A very prudent move by Satguru and one which we should all seek to emulate to protect the already sick and vulnerable. I was meticulous with my protocol and still contracted this nasty virus, thankfully so far it is relatively mild, just a persistent fever. But I take solace in that this too is all Siva and his cosmic dance. Aum Namasivaya
