On Taskforce in the Greenhouse

Jai Ganesha

Today our father-and-son taskforce team have been participating in some relaxing work at the greenhouse. Mayuran and Chandipati have been helping Yogi Dayanatha to plant out new channels of baby greens. Each day our monks enjoy the fruits (or veggies, rather) of these labors. A whole tub of greens are cooked down for our lunch greens, be they baby bok choy, swiss chard, red kale, mustard greens, beet green or any of the many others. Om.

Nothing speaks to the future like this sequence of photos. This profound pattern, established by Gurudeva decades ago, of fathers bringing their sons to Kauai Aadheenam – ushering them into a world of total spiritual commitment for a time. To be, to work, and live joyously in close proximity to the Guru, Parmacharyas, Acharyas, Swamis, and great Sadhakas for a time creates a personal lifelong bond to the Sampradaya. Is there a greater samskara, a greater gift for a young boy?
