Sevaka Here From Malaysia for a Few Weeks
Longtime sishya, Sivajnani Nagappan, is serving in the monastery's Siddhidata Kulam on our resident taskforce program for a few weeks. The timing works out well for him to especially help preparations for the Iraivan Temple final Mandala Pujas from May 8-11.
Sivajnani has never husked a coconut before, so we gave him the opportunity to learn and husk one of the 250+- cocos that will be used during the upcoming pujas.

Jai Jai Shree Maha Ganesh
Welcome Sivathondar and thanks for your service to Iraivan Temple. Perfect timing! The temptation is so great that my childhood experience in Araly, Jaffna, Sri Lanka should be shared–the first nineteen years of my life spent included husking coconuts from our own garden (using a knife) , irrigating our crops and garden by drawing water from the well, taking care of cows, goats, oxen, chickens, dogs, etc., together with visiting and praying in temples, most importantly studying! All these taught me invaluable lessons in life that modern youth are missing out!
Jai Sri Mahalingeshwara!

It was a great experience. To serve God is to serve Mankind. It is a great experience here in kauai Hindu monastery, to be able to serve our Satguru and our Guru paramparai too. Come over to Kauai Aadheenam. Plan your trip here. Nothing like experiencing yourself. Anbe Sivam. Om Namasivaya.
